Trichoscopy, the method used for your hair diagnosis
Trichoscopy is a modern diagnostic procedure for hair and scalp pathologies widely used in our hair clinic. By means of this technique it is possible to observe the morphological characteristics of the hair and the skin of the scalp with great increase and precision, being of great help to correctly guide certain forms of alopecia.
The device used in a trichoscope or dermatoscope, which consists of a microscope with polarized light that allows to visualize the hair with an increase from 10 to 400 times its size.
One of the main advantages of trichoscopy is its non-invasive nature and its speed. The trichologist performs an immediate diagnosis of the type of alopecia by direct visualization of the hair using the trichoscope.
The usefulness of trichoscopy is aimed at improving the diagnosis of alopecia and more specifically areata alopecia, androgenetic alopecia and scarring alopecia, and various dermatoses that can affect primary or secondary scalp (pityriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, etc.). It also helps us identify some genetic or acquired hair diseases that result in stem modifications.
Online capillary diagnosis is far from being as reliable as face-to-face diagnosis, since there is no possibility of capillary removal or visualization of the scalp, but if you lack time and want a first impression on what your problem is, the capillary diagnosis online can help you.
